Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

Draft for legal review. This policy accurately describes what the platform stores today. It must be reviewed against the data protection law of the operating jurisdiction before launch.

1. What we collect

Information you give us:

  • Your name, gamer tag, email address and phone number.
  • Your date of birth, used to confirm you meet the minimum age.
  • Your country, platform and in-game ID.
  • Your profile picture and any match evidence you upload.
  • Bank or payout details, if and when you request a withdrawal.

Information generated by using the platform:

  • Match results, ratings, statistics and league standings.
  • Tournament entries, wallet transactions and payment records.
  • Notifications, support messages and disputes you raise.

Information collected automatically:

  • Your IP address and browser user agent, recorded on sign-in and on security-relevant actions.
  • Session cookies needed to keep you signed in.

2. Why we use it

  • To run your account and your competitive record.
  • To operate tournaments, leagues, rankings and prize distribution.
  • To process payments and, where enabled, payouts.
  • To investigate disputes and enforce the Fair Play Policy.
  • To send you service notifications about your matches, entries and payments.
  • To protect the platform against fraud, cheating and abuse.

3. What is public

Your gamer tag, country, profile picture, rating, statistics, match history and achievements are shown publicly on your player profile and on leaderboards. Your email address, phone number, date of birth, wallet balance and payout details are never shown publicly.

You can set your profile to private in your dashboard settings, which hides it from other players. Your name will still appear in the brackets and results of competitions you have entered, because those are a record of the competition itself.

4. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and a token cookie if you choose "keep me signed in". We also set a security token used to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

5. Sharing

We share personal information only where necessary:

  • With our payment provider, to process entry fees and payouts.
  • With our email provider, to deliver service notifications.
  • Where required by law, or to protect our rights and the integrity of competition.

We do not sell personal information.

6. Security

  • Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes and are never recoverable in plain text.
  • "Keep me signed in" tokens are stored hashed, and rotate on every use.
  • Administrative access is role-based and every significant action is written to an audit log.
  • Uploaded files are validated, re-encoded and stored where they cannot be executed.

7. Retention

Account and competition records are kept while your account is active. Financial records are retained for the period required by applicable accounting and tax rules, even after an account is closed. Audit logs are retained for integrity purposes.

8. Your rights

You can access and correct most of your information directly in your dashboard. You may also request a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to close your account. Contact info@switchgamers.com and we will respond within a reasonable period.

9. Children

The platform is not intended for anyone under the minimum age of 13. If we learn that we hold information about a child below that age, we will delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified to registered players.
